One of the most – if not the most – important aspect of a person’s life is their level of confidence. It provides a foundation for just about every area in life, such as success, achieving goals, remaining motivated, and feeling good about you! Having a deep faith in yourself and abilities helps in everyday life as well, in your career, relationships, friendships, how you work with colleagues, and your feelings of self-worth. Effective communication skills and self-control have all been linked to a healthy level of confidence. It’s been proven that hypnosis is an effective tool in boosting confidence levels. It provides quick, easy and long-lasting results.

It seems that everyone else has more self-confidence, either innate, or they’ve acquired it over time. But it’s a learned trait; it’s defined by Merriam-Webster as “the quality or state of being certain.” Self-confidence is defined as belief in oneself and one's powers and abilities. But, everyone has the ability to work on their confidence level and over time, improve it with the right exercises. However, studies have shown that people can work on and dramatically raise their confidence level with easy exercises.

It’s been noted recently that self-hypnosis is a highly effective, safe, simple and popular form to build self-confidence. Uncertainty and overall fear – either rational or irrational -- have been overcome with hypnosis. It works by targeting negative subconscious feelings and replacing them and enforcing them with positive thoughts and emotions. It reprograms anxiety and doubt, creating a new way to think: with renewed confidence you never thought possible.

The effects of hypnosis was tested on 22 university students with all participants having their confidence levels tested prior to the test. Through guided thought-suggestions, they visualized confidence, and then imagined what confidence felt like, and then visualized themselves as confident! Relaxation training was also used to reduce any fears or anxiety. Immediately following the program, confidence levels were evaluated, and then followed up after six months. It was determined that all 22 participants had improved and sustained levels of confidence as tested immediately following and in the follow-up evaluation.

This is not the first study to show that hypnosis is an effective and easy to follow tool to increased confidence. Simple, positive suggestions provided during the hypnosis session do have a profound and life-changing effect on one's confidence. And, that can help in many areas of daily life.
